Birthday Apron

Well, here it is, finally! A birthday apron for my baby sister. I used Butterick 4945, view D. I used contrast fabric for the ruffle, ties and facings and omitted the bow.

I don't know what it is about aprons, but I love making them. In fact, that's what got me started on this sewing ride.

Triumphs:
The narrow hem on that pink ruffle. I used the technique described here and it worked beautifully.

(Near) Tragedies:
I had trouble getting the ties and facings all to line up properly, so they are a little wonky in a few places. I need to learn to spend a little more time perfecting.

I cut the teensiest of holes in one of the ties. Luckily it was near the hem so I could disguise it.

I have plenty more to share this week, so stay tuned!
